Product Review: John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze

A friend of mine in her early 30s prides herself on her virgin hair. She's never had it colored, permed, straightened or chemically altered in any way. But lately, she felt the need for a little lift. Nothing major. Just a little something... So she picked up a package of John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Luminous Color Glaze. (It also comes in versions for blondes and redheads). She has fallen in LOVE with this product. It gives her naturally brown hair a little more oomph, without the trouble and expense of salon visit. Most of all, it adds tons of shine and makes her hair super silky and soft. It was just the little boost that she needed. It's even supposed to cover some gray. It might not work for you if your hair is baby fine, but it can give normal to thick hair a little lift. Not bad for $9.99 and 3 extra minutes in the shower!

I was going grey, especially on the top of my hair and underneath at the back and sides. It was getting me down but as terrible 'worrier'I
didn't want to use the normal hair dyes.I did a lot of searching on the net but could not find a natural hair colourant that wasn't really expensive. Then my daughter-in law picked J.F.Luminous Colour Glaze up in the supermarket and I decided to give it try as it was on special offer. It was the best decision ever,I have never known such fantastic results from a hair product.I used Choc to Expresso and the first 4 or 5 times I left it on for about 20 minutes, now I only need to leave it on for three, all the grey is covered.I have very fine hair but I never known it to be so shiny and silky.People keep asking me what I am using on my hair and a lot of people think I have had highlights put in.[you can even use it on coloured or highlighted hair].One tip ,it is not expensive at £6.99 when it lasts me with shoulder lenghth hair 4 or 5 times but Boots often have J.F at half price[like now]I can't praise this product enough. I too just went through a chemical process to return my over-toned highlighted hair (which turned a hideous YELLOW) back to brown. The process which included a very stripping process to bring my base back to brown (much harsher than going platinum blonde I might add), then adding a glaze, my hair felt like straw (not at the salon of course) after my very first wash after. It has taken me two full weeks of using reparative daily use of serums and lotions (I highly recommend UNA drops and Salerm 21 protein cream, PLUS Nexxus Humectrus conditioner) to get my hair to feel and look almost back to normal. However, after all this, my hair started to look brassy and clashing a little with my pale skin tone and grey eyes. After reading THIS article and several articles I decided to give John Frieda's Luminous Color Glaze in Brilliant Brunette a try. After using JUST ONE TIME, 90% of the brassiness is gone and my hair looks almost like my original natural color. It is NOT messy like some reviewers claim, does NOT smell and it is NOT harsh. My hair I tell you was STRAW 2 weeks ago and was expecting the return after this. I followed the directions exactly and left on for maybe 5 or 6 minutes. Rinses easily and completely (rinse until water runs clear).

I can not wait to use again later this week.

THE SHINE IS INSANE. WORTH THE TRY, SO GLAD I DID. I do recommend using high quality hair care products if you have damaged hair as there is NO shortcut in the road to recovery. I feel this product will end up saving my hair and my wallet some unneeded damage in the long run.
