Neons for Fall
There are a lot of makeup trends that seem to go hand in hand with fall: red lipstick, smoky eyes, and more polished hair. There are other trends, however, that do not. One is fall's hot neon makeup trend. I consider myself an adventurous beauty junkie, but I couldn't figure out how hot pink lipstick and stripey neon eyeshadow works with fall's luxe gray wools, chunky sweaters and couture-like details. So I took some time to think outside the box. Here are a few ideas:
A classic grey pencil dress would look fabulous paired with a vibrant pink lipstick or a striking, bright-on-bright "French" manicure.
A fabulous chunky black sweaterdress worn with neon-bright tights would be totally complemented by a "smoky" eye composed of neon-bright shadows rather than the usual greys and blacks.
A shot of color on an otherwise fresh, almost dewy face, whether it's in the form of a bright eyeliner or a pop of lip color, can add life and youth and vitality to a classic pantsuit. I also love the idea of a sexy 40s skirtsuit paired with an almost nude face, save for a hit of bright color on the lips. So fresh and modern.
Maybe fall luxury and 80s neon-brights aren't such an unlikely pairing after all? I'm definitely looking forward to giving these looks a try!
